Domain
Questions
Can I have
more than one domain pointed to my
account?
Yes, but be
aware, No Ad Web charges additional fees for
every extra domain name you point to
your account. For a domain name that is
parked on top of your main domain name,
the cost is $1.99/month.
You may use an index.cgi script, to
redirect from that domain name to a
sub-directory at no additional charge. Each
additional domain name parked on top, or
to a sub-directory, receives one
catch-all email POP account or forwarder
for all mail to that domain name. Parked
domain names do not receive a control
panel of their own.
Do you
support
subdomains?
Yes. The amount of
subdomains will depend on the plan you
purchase. Additional subdomains
are available
more information. The Standard Hosting
account comes with 5 subdomains and the
Premium Hosting comes with 10.
What is
a subdomain?
A subdomain
is any term you want before your domain.
For example you have a domain
www.yourname.com
and say you want to create another
webpage. You can create a
subdomain
(anything.yourname.com) and it can be like a whole
separate webpage. In essence it is a
domain as well. So
it is a very nice feature to
have.
How do I
transfer my existing domain to your
service.
A
domain transfer is not necessary. All
you will need to do is change the
nameservers for your domain to the ones
provided in your confirmation email.
You can however, transfer your domain
using our registration service which
will provide you a low cost way to add
additional years of registration for
your domain name. For a step by
step process

I
registered a domain name with you today. I
accidentally misspelled it and need to change the
name. Can I get the name changed or get a refund?
No Ad Web
is unable to change or edit the spelling of a
domain name after it has been registered. The
system is setup to attempt to register the domain
exactly as it is entered. Should the registration
succeed, charges will be incurred even if the
domain entered was not what the person actually
intended to type. The system only knows what is
actually typed. Because No Ad Web is charged the
moment any domain is submitted, registrations are
not refundable.
How do I get all of my domains working
with No Ad Web?
In your Welcome
E-mail, you'll notice your new DNS entries to
change with
your current registrar. You will need to go to the
provider whom you registered your domain name from
(ex: networksolutions.com), login to your master
domain panel and update your domains 'NAME
SERVERS.'
You will then point your domain to the domain Name
Server of your choice. You should upload and
test your complete website to our servers using
the FTP information contained in your welcome
email prior to changing DNS entries. This
will insure uninterrupted service of your web site.
Why doesn't my web site work yet? and
shouldn't the domain name I registered be working by
now?
Upon activation, it will take your site 24-72
hours to update DNS entries AROUND the globe. In
English, every DNS "phone book" (so to speak) will
be updated within a MAXIMUM of 72 hours.
If you would like, you may access your web site by
visiting the following URL (so you may test things
out)
http://111.111.111/~username/
Just replace USERNAME with the username assigned
to you in your Activation Email. and replacing the
IP with the one provided in that email as well
What are the nameservers for my site?
These nameservers are located in your Welcome
E-mail. Change your
nameservers at your current registrar exactly to
the nameserver information we provide in your
welcome e-mail. Please allow 24-72
hours for global DNS updates to update your DNS
entries.

Can you host an international domain (TLD)?

when you sign up for your additional domain, that
you use the proper extension.
How do I get files onto my web site?
Several ways! Either by uploading your files
one by one via your control panel or, an easier
way, by using an FTP/HTML editor to upload your
files (such as FrontPage, CuteFTP, etc.). All you
will need to do is configure the HTML/FTP editor
to work with your site and you should be good to
go!

more information on how to configure your FTP
Software.
What's the difference between domain
pointing and domain parking?
Pointing - pointing a TLD domain name to a
sub-domain giving it the appearance of an account
of it own
Parking - making a second domain name point to the
same web site as another.
Each of these services are $14.99 one time, and can
be purchased through the sales department.
