Acer Aspire Notebook - What To Consider Prior To Your Purchase
For people that are on the go and are looking for a cost-effective and lightweight portable computer, the Acer Aspire One Notebook is the one for you. In regard to this particular niche of the computer marketplace, Acer has done its job. Perfect for almost any occasion, this notebook is versatile and can serve many purposes. If you are looking for quality, without all of the flashy toys that come with most expensive notebooks, you should like this particular computer.
How comfortable you find the Aspire One's keyboard will depend on what you're used to. More than likely, you will think that the keyboard is too small, when you are used to a normal size laptop. Sometimes things can be deceptive, and that's what is the case here, since this machine actually has a big enough keyboard. Whenever something is new, or different, like a notebook computer, getting used to it will take some time.
Unless you have never used a notebook before, nor ever texted on a cell phone, using this notebook should be relatively simple. Just because the Aspire One is a small computer, doesn't mean that the keyboard can't be one of its best features.
Acer One also has a brother and sister models that sport more techy options that might be attractive to many people.
Another computer, one that uses the same platform as Windows 7, called the Aspire One Happy Notebook, is also a potential choice. The Android eReader is nifty. Acer Happy computers are known for their glossy and shiny appearance that can be seen from far away. Priced at almost $500, the Aspire One Happy models are beautiful to look at but at twice the price. This type of operating system, however, does not work very well because it was originally designed for the Android phones. It is possible in the near future that Acer may update this operating system.
When you look at the Aspire One as a whole, considering the design, features and cost, it's a good value. The most negative aspect of this notebook is that the battery life is lacking in length. This unit is outfitted with a three cell battery that is not as functional as those in other Acer units. There are batteries that have the ability to hold a charge up to nine hours, this one maybe only three hours. As long as your use is restricted to brief periods using the battery or using the adapter, you should not have any issues.
The Acer Aspire One is hard to criticize when you take into consideration all you get for the price. Most people will probably not have a problem with the smaller keyboard because they will appreciate the light weight and compact size of this unit. Although the battery life is not that long, you can use it while plugged in to the wall at many locations. If you're looking for versatility, at an affordable price, the Acer Aspire One is definitely the computer for you.
For more options take a look at these best desktops. And do not forget an Android Ereader as well. I hope you liked this critique.

Acer offers up new all-in-one desktops for the holidays (Albuquerque Journal)

(Credit: Acer)
Acer announced a variety of new desktops today for consumers and business
buyers. Among the highlights are two new all-in-ones, each for under $1,000.
The Acer-branded AZ5 is Acer's new flagship all-in-one. Starting at $750, the
23-inch AZ5 will feature second-generation Intel Core i3- and Core i5-series
CPUs, along with a touch screen and Acer's Clear.fi media-streaming software.
Although this is a touch-screen-based desktop, the AZ5, in keeping with Acer's
older all-in-ones, doesn't seem to offer an equivalent to HP's well-conceived
touch software suite. At least the overall design of the AZ5 has a certain
future-pop appeal. Acer will also offer a smaller 21.5-inch AZ3 model,
starting at $650.
