Sony KDL46W4100 Review
The Sony KDL46W4100 is an attractive and completely featured LCD television. We were almost impressed by its performance, with very dark blacks, exact whites and a vivid display. That doesn't mean there are no negative sides, because the color gamut is a little off and the viewing angle are not very good.
If you are movie fan or you like some other fast moving action on your television, then this LCD television has got a plenty of things what you are looking for. The Sony KDL46W4100 performed great in our movement tests. We experienced clean movement with videos that contained lots of motion, and the TV had no problem processing an image.
This Sony supports a full 1080p or true HD picture. The selection of connectors is good, including 4 HDMI connectors. Too bad that this TV doesn't have a USB interface or some card reader.
This TV set as well offers TruSurround which is a patented SRS technology that enables playing 5.1 multichannel sound through two speaker units. This Sony presents a great virtual surround sound with any two speaker units, including it's own television speakers and headphones. It is fully compatible with all multichannel formats up to 5.1 channels.
This tv set also has three audio improving technologies to reproduce an awesome sound. Good sound with the solid picture quality truly makes this Sony Bravia TV a solid one.
The Sony Bravia KDL46W4100 performed good in our tests of of dark and white colors. Black colors were precise deep, especially for an HDTV of this price range. Whites and greys were brilliant and true.
This TV really has outstanding colors, we saw consistent white colors and a clean, exact representation of the basic colors from which image on the screen is made. We were satisfied with the coloring, but we have noticed a slight issue with the TV’s color gamut, which means colors may not always be exactly they should.
The biggest problem with the Sony Bravia KDL-46W4100 is a viewing angle. Moving away from center we found that the contrast ratio was {decreasing}. Contrast is the difference in presenting the black and light colors. This tv set has a small viewing angle, even for an LCD TV, which generally don't have good viewing angle as Plasma televisions.
The remote control of this TV is very adequate to hold and well laid out with the exception that the controls for direction are at the opposite end of the remote control from the volume pushes. The menu on the TV is corresponding of that used in the Playstation 3, and it will take some time to get used to it.
Power consumption is around average. You can have turned on this LCD TV without worrying you will get a big bill for electrics.
This Sony KDL46W4100 is a really good HDTV, with a full feature set and superior performance on about all fields. The viewing angle fact will be serious for pickier ones. If you want a TV that will be in a place where people will be looking at it from all angles you may want to go with a Plasma. If this isn’t an issue for you, then you will be getting your money’s value with the Sony KDL46W4100.

Turkish company builds 65-inch Android 'tablet' with Honeycomb, 1080p support (video) (Engadget)
Want Honeycomb on your TV? You can take your chances with a Google TV-enabled
set from Sony, or you can get the full Android experience by adding a
connected tablet to your HD mix -- if Istanbul-based Ardic gets its solution
out the door, at least. The Turkish company's prototype uses a 10-inch Android
Honeycomb-based tablet to power a 65-inch LCD with 1080p support for basic
gestures, like pinch and zoom. The display currently has two touch sensors,
but a version with four sensors is on the way, which will bring multi-touch
support. The tablet is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC, and includes 1GB of
RAM, 16GB of flash memory, dual cameras, HDMI, USB, microSD and 3G and WiFi
connectivity. A dock enables instant connectivity with the OEM TV, including
HDMI for video and audio, and USB for touch input (a wireless version is in
the works as well).
The devs customized Android to support 1080p output, and it appears to work
quite seamlessly, as you'll see in the embedded video. And this isn't simply
another goofy demo or proof of concept -- the Turkish company is in talks with
education and enterprise ...
