My older model Toshiba Satellite laptop won't start browsing the wifi internet after the connection has been made with a public wifi provider (Library) .I wonder if the N wireless adaptor is too fast for my laptop.
If you have an N-wireless adapter on the laptop (and it installed correctly when you got it--check device manger to be sure: right-click MyComputer, go to Manage, click Device Manager on left side, see if it is listed under Network Adapters on the right side of window... if it is, with no red or yellow icons indicating trouble, or you don't see it listed under Other Devices which would mean it didn't install correctly), a wireless-N adapter should be backward compatible to whatever the library is using (presumably g or b wireless).
If the device is installed correctly (no red flags in the device manager) then it isn't an issue of it being too fast for your laptop. If that were the case, it probably wouldn't let you install it (would give errors or say isn't compatible with that version of windows or whatever).
