What is web hosting?

In order to have a web site on the internet you first need to have a web server.  Unfortunately, owning a Web server can be very costly and requires technical expertise that most businesses don't have. This is where web hosts such as No Ad Web come in. 

No Ad Web provides the equipment and other technical resources that you need without the headaches that come when you have to do it yourself.

You can think of a web host as the landlord of a building. A landlord rents out storefronts to various businesses. Each business decorates and runs their store differently, and doesn't worry about the maintenance of the building. In a similar way a web host rents out space on a web server to various businesses. Each business builds their own web site and never has to worry about the maintenance of their web server.

In other words, No Ad Web, the web host, provides the place on the internet where your web site lives. It's a lot cheaper than buying your own server, and you don't have to hire the technical staff to take care of it.

Do you support FrontPage 98 / 2000 / 2002?
Yes! All our packages come with optional FrontPage extensions at no extra charge.

I don't have any experience in creating a site.  Who can help me?

Can I register my domain name with you?
Yes, simply email us with the domain name you desire. Include your name, address, phone number and current email address. You may want to submit a second choice if your first is not available.

Can I try your system before deciding?
Your satisfaction is assured. To back up our commitment to you, No Ad Web will refund your first months service fee if you cancel within the first 30 days. No strings, no hassles; just quality service to help your business grow.

Why do I have to pay a $9.95 set up fee for a "free" web site?
Because we do not put any advertising on your site, this helps us to break even so that we may continue to offer free websites. It also discourages mass sign ups, kids and e-mail/website abusers.

Do you allow MP3 files? Do you allow streaming of videos?
Yes, we have no problem as long as those MP3’s and video files are legitimate. Please make sure you select the proper plan which allows it. We suggest a higher bandwidth and space plan because most mp3s and videos tend to be bigger files and once they are streamed they consume a lot of bandwidth.

How soon will my account be activated?
Most accounts are activated within just a few hours.

Will my account renew automatically?
Yes, unless you tell us otherwise, your account will renew automatically at the end of its term and your credit card will be charged.

Do you sell your client names/URL's to mailing list companies?
No, we will not sell or release your name or URL to any mailing list company. 

Will you accept pornographic, hacker, MP3, hate sites or gambling sites?
No. Read our Terms of Service for more information.

Do you allow me to send mass unsolicited email/Spam/UBE?
No Ad Web does not tolerate UBE (Unauthorized Bulk Email) and will not allow our servers or services to be used for such purposes. Spamming is in violation of our Acceptable Use Policy and our Service Agreement.  Any user of our services who has sent out UBE (Unauthorized Bulk Email) will have their account closed and deleted without refund immediately.

I already have a domain, can I use it with your hosting? What are the steps?

What support can I expect from No Ad Web?
We pride ourselves on our support service. We offer priority email support to all of our customers, as well as maintain detailed and up-to-date support information online. Our support staff are available 7 days a week, and will respond to your enquiries quickly. We also keep the servers well maintained and aim to perform at the highest level, and securely, at all times.

Some hosts offer "unlimited" bandwidth, why don't you?
When we set up No Ad Web we wanted it to be an extremely reliable web hosting company, and maintain a proper and sustainable hosting model. While many companies quote "unlimited" or "unmetered" bandwidth allocations, you'll usually find in the small print that they have the right to remove your site without warning if you are using too much bandwidth. Be sure you read their terms of service completely.

How can I get more space/bandwidth/features?
Upgrade to Standard or Premium Web Hosting. Both provide increased storage space, bandwidth and features over a free membership. Standard and Premium Members are also eligible to purchase extra disk space, bandwidth and features as needed.

What will happen when my site goes over the data transfer limit?
The system has the capability to block sites that exceed their data transfer limit so that you are not charged for any overages. You will have the choice to continue using more data transfer and pay more at the end of the month, or stop using more data transfer and avoid paying more at the end of the month.

Are there any hidden costs?
No. All costs are stated plainly on our signup/upgrade page. We do not hide fees in fine print, or in our terms of service pages.
